Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Wisconsin (Wauwatosa, specifically).
Where do you live now?
Waukesha, WI
What is your reason for taking this course?
I am taking this course for professional development credit for license renewal, but also because I currently teach the middle school level at a virtual academy and would like to learn more about methods, etc. for that teaching/learning environment.

If you have taken other courses, what has been your most beneficial project?
I did take E-Learning for Educators from UW Stout a couple years ago and I think what I found of most benefit was using Diigo as it was amazing the vast amounts of info. out there and having a place to share it all.
What is your dream job?
Hmm, well, I truly believe I was put on this earth to be a teacher, but if I did something outside this field, it would be something with animals. If I had to pick a specific, it would be working at the Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.
What is your current job?
I teach middle school, 6th-8th, mostly English and Math at the Wisconsin Virtual Academy.
If you could leave today, no regard for cost or details, where would you travel on a vacation?
It would have to be Alaska as I love the remoteness and nature and wildlife aspects of it.

Dianne and I made a nice connection after fumbling around trying to find partners.  🙂    Here are my questions and her answers:

1. Why are you taking this course? (if it specifically relates to a job, please include what your position is, how the course relates, etc) I am taking this course to be one step closer to completing a MS in Career and Technical Education with a certificate in e-Learning and Online Teaching. I also am able to apply the course information in my job. I am currently full time faculty at Northcentral Technical College in the Business Technology and Marketing areas. I am excited to find opportunities to continue to improve my teaching and course design skills.

2. How do you think online learning/teaching has changed education? The online classroom has definitely changed the way information is delivered to learners. Connecting with learners can be more challenging. I think determining frustration or confusion can be harder to determine. The opportunities online learning presents are amazing! I would not have been able to complete my degree without it. The flexibility and not having to travel make the learning more accessible for learners in my opinion. It is an area I believe will continue to grow and change.

3. If you could design an online course of your choice (any topic, any age level, etc.),  what would it be and why? I am living the dream!! I am able to work with online courses in the Wisconsin Technical College System. I am able to work with learners of different ages and experiences. It is a great environment.4. What is your favorite offline activity? (meaning, no internet or power cords allowed!) My favorite activity is horseback riding or anything outdoors. I also like to canoe.
